New Japanese war machine in War Thunder!
The Japanese had some pretty impressive war machines during WWII.
Gaijin Entertainment ain´t that kind of video game company that slacks a lot. Nope, because Gaijin always tries to evolve and improve their game. Which in this case just happens to be War Thunder. Just take the new Japanese war machine for example.
That´s going to add some new gameplay value to War Thunder (at least i hope so). And you can read all about it furthur down the page =)
Press release:
"At the end of March 1945 the Burmese National Army engaged Japanese occupational forces in fierce combat, and with the support of the Allies, soon liberated their country from invading forces. The Japanese army was unable to turn the tide of battle despite deploying their experimental war machine Daikaidzu "Gaijilla" GD11a , which the natives called "giant monster".
Gaijin Entertainment announces that in honor of this historic encounter, War Thunder will soon be introducing a new experimental unit for Japan. Unlike most Japanese combat vehicles, the new model is slower to manoeuvre in battle, but with regards to its durability and ammunition, it has no rivals.
To test this new prototype, players have to install the dev-version of the game by using a special launcher

Twitch TV announces group chat beta

Twitch TV. For, and by Gamers.
Funny enough. We have been talking quite a lot about Twitch TV lately. Because we feel like we should stream more of our gameplay videos live via Twitch. So we plan to do so asap. We just have to get a better internet connection first.
And speaking of Twitch. Have you guys heard about the new group chat beta function for Twitch? If not, check it out =)
"Announcing Group Chat BetaAn all-new Twitch chat experience
One of the most beloved features on Twitch is the ability to chat with your fellow gamers. In many ways, it’s what makes Twitch, Twitch. It’s where community memes begin. Where you express your glee, outrage, befuddlement, or amusement, as the case may be. Twitch is a social place, and chat is where the social exchange happens.
Today, we’re proud to announce a new beta initiative called Group Chat. Group Chat is a way to create invite-only chat rooms that live separately from the traditional Channel Chat.
Creation of these invite-only rooms during the initial beta period will be available to members of the Twitch Partner Program only, but any Twitch user can be invited to join a Group Chat room.
The beta period is necessary to ensure that Group Chat is stable and scalable before we roll out room creation to everyone. We’ve been working hard on shoring up the QoS of our chat service in general, and we are keen to roll it out to the rest of the community as quickly as we can.
For more detailed information, complete with a video walkthrough with the one and only djWHEAT, please see the Twitch Blog. Please also review this how-to in our Knowledge Base and this FAQ.
As always, we are listening and we encourage your feedback. If you have thoughts or suggestions, please email [email protected]."
Scourge outbreak - Now for PC and MAC on Steam
Scourge outbreak are yours for 7,19 Euro via Steam.
We just heard that Tragnarion Studios has released their co-op,squad-based third-person shooter game "Scourge outbreak" for PC and MAC via Steam. And to make things even better. There´s also a 10% price cut on Steam at the moment.
Press release:
"This summer, Tragnarion Studios will be very proud to release “Scourge: Outbreak”; a co-op,squad-based third-person shooter built with Unreal Engine 3. Some people will already be curiousabout the similarities between screenshots from Outbreak and “The Scourge Project: Episodes 1 &2” (TSP), which we released on PC in April 2010. “Is this a new game? It looks quite similar to thelast one...” A lot has happened since the release of TSP, so we feel it’s important to clearly explainwhat Scourge: Outbreak is...
We must be up-front and admit that TSP hit the (virtual) shelves in a state less polished than wewould have liked. As gamers ourselves, we know what it’s like to play something that feels like itwould have benefited from more time in development. We were a small and, at the time, relativelyinexperienced team trying to compete against some very, very heavy hitters in the shooter genrewho have teams much larger than ours. There was a lot of pressure on us finish the game and get itout as quickly as possible, so the truth is that we struggled to meet the high expectations of shooterfans with the time and resources at our disposal. Nobody felt this disappointment as deeply as we did.
Once TSP was released, we turned our attention to two things. Firstly, we did our best to listen to the community and respond quickly with patches to address the most pressing issues, while makingnotes on improvements that we hoped to squeeze in for the console versions. Secondly, we beganworking on porting TSP to Xbox 360 and PS3.
However, we soon hit a serious problem. Xbox LIVE Arcade titles are restricted to 2 GB, and the PCversion of TSP was over 6 GB. Making the game fit into 2 GB was going to be a gargantuan task;one which would inevitably have far-reaching consequences. Cutting out any major chunk of the campaign would break things like story, pacing, etc, not to mention result in a much smaller game for players to enjoy.
Removing the PvP versus modes and maps would severely reduce our potentialaudience. No, we had to do this carefully. So, while part of our team focused on finding technicalsolutions for saving space, the rest of the team started analyzing the game to figure out which parts could be removed or modified without seriously screwing anything up. With a deep breath, we plunged in and spent the better part of two years fighting to save our game and make sure it didn’t remain a PC-only title forever.
Still, despite a lot of blood, sweat and tears (all literal!), we worked hard and used this time to make the game better. Much, much better."
Here’s just a small selection of what we were able to do:
- Added a totally new Tutorial level at the start of the game to better explain gameplay mechanics
and establish key plot points which were fuzzy before, as well as created new
cut-scenes and added new dialogue for a much improved plot narrative throughout.
- Checkpoints which weren’t fun were cut, and others which were under-used had action added to
them to squeeze in a lot more gameplay than they offered before. The gameplay in almost every
checkpoint has been revised and re-balanced to make it more challenging while at the same time
more fair.
- Re-vamped Friendly and enemy AI, improving combat behavior, path-finding, and fixing a
lot of bugs.
- Overhauled the weapons handling, added new weapon variants and made gunplay far more
responsive and gratifying with better hit feedback, stumble/death animations, etc.
- Made cover much easier and faster to use and added a ‘Cover Slip’ action.
- Adjusted Player movement speeds and added a (much needed) Roll action.
- Vastly improved gameplay fluidity, making all actions faster, smoother and far more responsive.
- Added unlockable Perks to the XP system, so gaining XP Ranks is now much more meaningful.
- Using new functionality in Unreal Engine 3, we totally re-did the lighting in the entire game, resulting
in far more vibrant and varied environments.
- Created a lot more landmarks and cool background vistas to aid navigation and add more
depth to the world.
- Revised the look of several playable characters and added a bunch of brand new enemies.
- Completely changed our approach our PvP modes, replacing all the original maps with new ones
to emphasize a smaller, more intimate and intense 4v4 squad combat experience. Now 4 friends
who have played the campaign in co-op can also be a full team in PvP modes, without having to
rely on strangers to win.
Chroma - Harmonix music-driven FPS game

Chroma are not your every day kind of FPS game. That´s for sure.
It´s kind of funny now that i think about it. Because i have complained for years that nothing big or revolutionary has happened with the FPS genre in the past 10 years. So what did it take to make that big change? A none famous FPS development studio.
I´m of course talking about Harmonix FPS/music game Chroma. A FPS game which (imo) are THE most interesting and uniq FPS game i´ve seen in many, many years. And guess what? You can now sign up for the Chroma beta =)
Game on!
About Chroma:
"Completely reimagining the classic Arena FPS formula, Chroma infuses fast-paced PC shooter action with music-driven gameplay. Join the fight as a Fader, a musical icon of the future, and battle for control of the all-encompassing cultural feed known as The Signal. In Chroma, music is your weapon. Sound is your arsenal."
Daylight - Somebody's watching trailer
You're not afraid of the dark, Are You now?
It´s almost showtime for Zombie Studios horror game Daylight (which uses Unreal Engine 4 btw). Because the release are just around the corner (for PC and PS4). To be exact. The release will take place on the 29th of April.
And you will find even more information about Daylight further down the page =)
Daylight Reveal 4:
Let’s not mince words. First news you need to know about Daylight is that we had to delay the release date by several weeks. Here’s the thing: the way Daylight is developed is completely different because of its procedural generation. In a lot of ways it really helped the team by streamlining the environment creation, but it’s taken extra time to make sure all the scare cues are properly implemented for maximum player effect.Tl;dr: we’re fine tuning Daylight to make it scarier.
Daylight’s new release date is April 29.
The silver lining to this cloud? We have some great news about Daylight’s price:
1) You can pre-order Daylight on PC right now through April 29 for $9.99, which
is 33% off the original price.
2) Starting on April 29 for 2 weeks, PS+ subscribers will be able to get
Daylight for $9.99, non-subscribers $11.99.
After the promotional periods, Daylight will be its regular $14.99 price.
We cool? Ok then.
Story
Where we last left off…
1700 - 1859
Skipping back nearly two hundred years, we get to the initial founding of Mid Island Hospital. As colonial America began to flourish, so too did rampant Tuberculosis. Between the ravages of the disease and the various wars with the French, Native Americans, and eventually British, Mid Island Hospital tended to several generations of death. Corpse disposal was haphazard at best, and wass accomplished by any means. As America turned on itself in the Civil War, Mid Island Hospital retreats to obscurity until the early 1900s.
Some Ignominious Time in the Late 1600s
The puritanical theocracy of the fledgling village of New Kipling held trials in the wake of several unexplained murders and disappearances around the township. The ruling clergy passed judgment on a group of women, citing them for religious crimes, Satanism, and other grievous offenses. Condemned to hell and denied any last rites, the women were summarily executed and buried unceremoniously on nearby Mid Island. The furor of religious persecution left New Kipling and rippled out to other coastal townships, including Plymouth, Boston and Salem. The unmarked graves went forgotten until the founding of Mid Island Hospital…
Game:
The last area to talk about in Daylight is the craziest one of all. Clearing the forest area gives way to…the hospital? But there’s something different about it. The halls are no longer decrepit; there’s no trash, no graffiti, no empty beds in the halls. The hospital looks new. It looks brand new. Like…when it was first built. What the hell is going on here? You’ll have to find
Virtua Fighter Fever Combo - A card-based browser game
Nope, it´s not a Xbox One or PS4 title. It´s a browser-based game for the Japanese market.
Nope, no Shenmue 3. At least not yet. But i bet that every single Shenmue fan in the whole world. Hoped to hear Yu Suzuki mention anything about Shenmue 3, during the GameLab Tokyo conference. But that was not the case.
Instead Suzuki talked about a browser-based Virtua Fighter game (Virtua Fighter Fever Combo). Oh well, it´s a start i guess...
This past Friday Yu Suzuki attended the GameLab Tokyo conference in his home country, and was interviewed on the present and future of the Japanese games industry.
We weren't expecting anything newsworthy to emerge from the event, and Shenmue-wise that was pretty much the case, but we did learn of a new browser-based game titled Virtua Fighter Fever Combo that will soon be released for Suzuki's native market. It will be a card-based spin-off from Yu's pioneering 3D fighting game, and is available for pre-registration at DMM.com:
