Quake Live are now live on Steam!

quake live steam
12 Game modes, 100 arenas, epic FPS action. All F2P, how can you say no to that?

What a nice coincidence. Because i started to play Quake Remake the other day. And today i found out that ID Software will release Quake Live on Steam tonight. And it´s all true, because it´s live on Steam as we speak. For me it means a lot of nostalgia.

Mainly because i played Quake III Arena (which was the original name of the game when it was released back in 1999) quite a lot back in the days. But there´s a huge difference between Quake Live and Q3 Arena. There´s like tons of improvements and new features in Quake Live for example.

But Quake Live are just as fast paced and adrelin pumping as Q3 Arena. And that´s the way it should be. And due the fact that Quake Live are all free-to-play. You might wanna give it a go ;)

"Welcome to Quake Live. From the legendary series that founded the online shooter genre comes the most exciting, energetic, and fast-paced free-to-play shooter on the Internet. Play against players around the world in over 100 arenas, and a dozen game modes, in one of the most competitive shooters online today. Coming to Steam on September 17, 2014."

The Evil Within - The new gameplay trailer

the evil within
Will Shinji Mikami fail or succeed with The Evil Within?

It´s less than a month left to The Evil Within release now (the 14th of October. For PC, PS3, PS4, 360 and Xbox One). So that means that the preasure is on for Shinji Mikami and his studio Tango Gameworks. And there´s a lot of doubters out there.

Both among the players themselves, and amongst the video game journalists. Mainly it boils down to a handful of things. Such as the graphical aspect of The Evil Within. People just doesn't seem to be impressed by the ingame graphics in The Evil Within.

Then we got the whole "deja vu" feeling. Been there, done that. In short, does The Evil Within really offer the players anything new at all? Things that we havn´t seen at least 1 million times before? Then we got the horror factor.

How scary are The Evil Within really? Because i can´t say that i have feelt that much fear from any of the trailers. At least not yet. Oh well, i guess i just have to give it a go to PC to find out. And speaking of which, if you pre-order The Evil Within.

Then you will get the fighting chance pack as a free bonus. And oh! Don´t forget to check out the TGS trailer for the game! I added that one down below ;)

"To celebrate Tokyo Game Show, we’ve just released a new gameplay trailer for The Evil Within, the upcoming survival horror game from legendary game director, Shinji Mikami."

Far Cry 4 - The arena mode trailer

far cry 4 the arena mode
Well, at least he doesn't need to worry about his back problems anymore.

Now i understand why people talked a lot about Far Cry 4 at PAX Prime. And it´s spelled "The arena mode". Which made me think about my days as a action Quake player (the intense close combat experience). But Far Cry 4´s arena mode will offer both tigers, elephants, traps and all kinds of things.

And it would be really, really cool if Ubisoft added a crossplay feature for Far Cry 4. Because many players would love to see a PS4 Vs Xbox One Vs PC players battle happen. Maybe Ubisoft won´t be able to add that before Far Cry 4 get´s released (which would be on the 18th of November).

But perhaps Ubisoft could add a crossplay feature via a update or DLC?

War Thunder - The T 44 restoration project - Part 1

war thunder unforgotten
War Thunder are for those whom love epic WWII simulators.

Gaijin Entertainment really loves war vehicles and war history. There´s absolutely no doubt about that (whatsoever). And if you ever doubted that for a second. Then just watch Gaijin´s "The T 44 restoration project - Part 1" video.

Becouse the goal would be to restore a broken down Soviet WWII T-44 tank, to a fully functional one. That will of course require a lot of skille, time and effort. But if there is someone who can do it. Then it´s Gaijin and Central Museum of Armored Vehicles in Kubinka!

Press release:
(MOSCOW, RUSSIAN FEDERATION) – September 15th, 2015 - Award-winning developer and publisher Gaijin Entertainment and the Central Museum of Armored Vehicles in Kubinka, have announced a dual partnership to fully restore a World War 2 era Soviet T-44 tank.

The project will see the museums depot stock T-44 tank usually used for spare parts fully restored to full working order, complete with  full interior and exterior overhaul to bring it back to its original WW2 battle ready appearance. The restoration will involve hundreds of man hours in order to transform the tank from its current badly damaged state into a show stopping fully restored museum display and exhibition piece.

The T-44 was a medium tank introduced by the Soviet Union towards the end of World War 2 and was the successor to the T-34 tank. The T-44 held several improvements over the mass produced T-34 tank, including stronger armour and an increased ammunition capacity whilst retaining the same maneuverability characteristics of its T-34 counterpart.

The T-44 was the Soviet Union’s first step in developing an advanced post war tank and was succeeded by the T-54 and T-55 variants which saw enhancements to main gun firepower, tank speed and armour protection.

“This is a rare opportunity to bring a piece of military history back to life for our players and tank enthusiasts,” said Creative Director Krill Yudintsev. “The T-44 was one of the first tanks in War Thunder and we are excited to restore one of the last surviving examples of this with the help of the Kubinka museum. This is a rare opportunity to bring a piece of military history back to life for our players and tank enthusiasts”.

Upon finalization of the lengthy restoration the T-44 will take pride of place in the Kubinka tank museum and will play a central part in historic reconstruction festivals and other museum events and exhibitions.

Super Smash Bros. leaked image and release date

super smash bros leaked image
So, Super Smash Bros. will be released on the 21th of November. Nice!

Fred Meyer an American retailer had begun handing out reservation cards saying Super Smash Bros. Is coming out November 21st. This would put it in the reason of Black Friday, one of the busiest spins days of the year globally.

It would make sense if it turns out to be true since Black Friday always guarantees sales, and increased ad revenue for retailers who participate in its madness.  If Super Smash Bros. Comes out ahead of its release date this would be one of the biggest game launches of 2014.

Super Smash Bros. Has the potential to outsell Grand theft auto on Next-gen. We’ll be covering more as this story unfolds for now keep following us and stay tuned as we update this.

Microsoft buys Mojang and Minecraft for $2.5billion

microsoft buys mojang and minecraft
No Notch no!

"Oh dear mother of god no!", "Please tell me that this is some kind of sick joke?", "Bye bye Minecraft". Those are some of the reactions that i have seen on the internet so far. Yes, i´m of course talking about the fact that Microsoft has bought Mojang (and Minecraft) for 2,5 billon dollars.

At first i thought that it was a joke as well. But then i remembered that there has been rumors going on for months about MS buying Mojang. And now it´s official, Microsoft now owns Mojang and all of their creations. So now i understand why so many Minecraft players are upset.

Because we ALL know what happened to Rare (don´t we now?). And this of course raises a lot of questions. Like, what will happen to Minecraft now? Will Notch quit his job at Mojang? And how much will this effect Mojang as a whole?

So, What do you guys think about all this?

"Gaming is a top activity spanning devices, from PCs and consoles to tablets and mobile, with billions of hours spent each year. Minecraft is more than a great game franchise – it is an open world platform, driven by a vibrant community we care deeply about."CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft Studios
