Alone in the Dark: Illumination - Now available on Steam

alone in the dark illumination
Alone in the Dark goes Gears of War?

As we all know, the 2008 edition of Alone in the Dark failed pretty damn hard. And with that fact freash in our minds. The AITD fans are pretty darn nervous about Alone in the Dark Illumination. Mostly becouse they think it´s nothing more than a Gears of War game with some horror elements to it.

Then again, the fans base all of that one one single trailer (the one that you will find further down the page). Imo, it´s to early to bring out the chainsaw and just tear Illumination apart.

In short, i think that Illumination at least deserves a fair chance (just like any other game). And IF we are asked to review the game, we will do so. In fact, i will personally take care of it.

Because i´ve been down with the Alone in the Dark series since the very first game. Oh well, this fall we will know for sure. And btw, you can pre-order Alone in the Dark: Illumination for 27,99 Euro via Steam at the moment.

Press release:
Alone in the Dark: Illumination will be available on Steam for $29.99. As the latest installment of the long-running Alone in the Dark® franchise, Alone in the Dark: Illumination is a third-person action-horror game that brings interesting new twists and gameplay including the power of illumination, 4-player cooperative multiplayer mode, and a unique cast of characters featuring descendants of the original Alone in the Dark heroes. Players can choose between the four playable heroes, each armed with an individual set of special abilities and weapons.

Alone in the Dark: Illumination is being developed by PURE FPS and fans can keep up with the latest on the game on Twitter at @AITDGame or Facebook at facebook.com/aloneinthedarkgame.

RuneScape celebrates Halloween with a horror story quest

runescape logo
The folks at Jagex Games likes Halloween and horror stories just as much as i do.

As we all know (well, at least we who likes Halloween) it´s that time of the year when you dress up as a monster (or something horror like), eat a lot of candy and watch horror movies all day long.

And of course (if you are a Gamer) play tons of horror games. And sure, Jagex F2P Mmorpg game "RuneScape", may not be a horror game. But that doesn't necessarily mean that RuneScape can´t become a horror game for a day (or two).

Because there will be Halloween themed quests (and a double xp weekend) in RuneScape during Halloween. In fact, the whole event will be live streamed via Twitch tomorrow (Saturday) from 2pm GMT.

Press release:

30th October – Dark, trembling terror awaits brave souls in RuneScape, as the award-winning fantasy MMORPG from Jagex launches a horror story quest just in time for Halloween, coupled with a flesh-chilling double XP weekend for players – both new and old – looking to level up their characters. The new adventure, Broken Home, is best experienced by players in a dim room with the volume cranked up, as they try to steel their nerves and uncover the terrible secrets concealed within a haunted mansion.

After All Hallows Eve, Broken Home will become a permanent addition to Gielinor. The adventure is the first in RuneScape’s illustrious history to offer strong replayability for players. Once the story is complete, players can return to the haunted house to face new challenges and unlock additional rewards. Broken Home also features an open structure, allowing players to fully explore the corridors, nooks and crannies of the house as they try to find out how each of the inhabitants died.

Additionally, players brave enough to complete the mission in the first two weeks after launch will earn additional rewards, including a damage boost for exclusive use during this year’s ‘Death’s Door’ Halloween event.

The double XP weekend begins at 12.00pm GMT on Friday 31st Octoberuntil 12.00pm GMT on Monday 3rd November. In addition, this weekend will see Jagex play host to the RuneScape Clan Cup 2014 final at the studio in Cambridge, where the remaining clans in the competition will battle to be crowned this year’s top team.

The event will be livestreamed on the game’s Twitch channel at
http://www.twitch.tv/runescape this Saturday from 2pm GMT.

F.E.A.R. Online - The fear continues online

No Alma, No F.E.A.R. (Fear). So, yes. Alma is a part of F.E.A.R. Online as well.

It´s been a really long time since i heard anything at all F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) related. And that´s sad, because i really loved  Monolith Productions F.E.A.R. 1 and 2. The third game in the series however (it was made by Day 1 Studios, released back in 2011), was (imo) THE worst game in the series so far (i do not count the expansions).

But it´s been over 3 years since F.E.A.R. 3 got released. And it´s been quite as the grave ever since. Until now that is. But one again, it´s a new developer that´s behind the steering wheel. This time it´s a South Korean studio named "InPlay Interactive", and the name of the game would be "F.E.A.R. Online".

Which would be a online F2P action/horror game (which you can download via Steam). Apparently, the game got released on Steam about a week ago. Still, it was just pure luck that i even found out about F.E.A.R. Online (a short tweet mention by the devs).

Anyhow, i have no idea if F.E.A.R. Online are worth my (your) time or not. So i´m going to give it a try asap!

About F.E.A.R. Online:

Immerse yourself once more in the horrific story of Alma Wade as you search for the reasons behind her destructive powers. Battle against both grotesque monsters and rival players as you unravel a terrifying mystery.

Key features:

Cooperative Story Mode
Battle through horror-filled scenes and take down the creatures you encounter with a group of friends. Discover all-new environments, weapons, and enemies all wrapped up in a terrifying experience.

Fearsome Fast-paced Multiplayer
Choose from over ten different PvP maps and shoot it out against both rival players and horrifying deadly monsters. Only the strongest will survive the nightmarish combat and live to F.E.A.R. another day.

Satiate your Blood Lust
Add a twist to the classic team versus team death match by transforming into beasts! Engage in combat to fill your transformation gauge. As soon as it reaches the maximum, you will be able to transform into a blood thirsty beast!

Become the Soul King
Play as a ghost with limitless potential in Soul King mode! Gain access to new abilities by possessing your enemies and hunt for fresh souls in an all out assault against other players.
