Video games live aims to fund a 4th album via Kickstarter

video games live level 4
There´s very high odds on that the Level 4 album will be funded in less than a week.

If you are a fan of Video Games Live (and Tommy Tallarico for that matter), then i´ve got some really good news for you. As we all know, the Level 3 album became a really big success on Kickstarter (over $285,000 was collected in total!).

And that´s why Tommy Tallarico has started a Kickstarter campaign for the VGL Level 4 album. Which aims to collect $150,000 within 38 days from now (so fair Level for has raised $72,000!). A goal which i believe Level 4 will reach very, very soon.

Especially considering the fact that the campaign is almost 50% funded already. So if you wanna help Tommy Tallarico make the Level 4 album happen. Then show him (and the album) some love on Kickstarter!

Quadruple Value Offered For Every Pledge Level!
LOS ANGELES, CA – October 20, 2014 - The first, longest running and most successful video game concert tour Video Games Live is proud to announce the launching of its 2nd Kickstarter project to help fund their 4th album entitled VIDEO GAMES LIVE: LEVEL 4. Last year Video Games Live successfully funded LEVEL 3 as it became the 3rd highest grossing Kickstarter album to date. The album was released earlier this year in February on the exact date that was originally planned.

Video Games Live Creator/Executive Producer and 25 year game industry veteran Tommy Tallarico said, “The music industry has changed a lot over the past 13 years since we started Video Games Live, and no record company was willing to take a chance on risking the money needed to create the project to the high quality and standards that it needed to be. The traditional record companies didn’t believe in the concept and they thought we were crazy… but the outpouring of fan support from around the world was incredible and inspirational. We proved to the world that people DO care about video game music and we believe that lightning can strike twice.”

Hoping to continue its success, Video Games Live is once again quadrupling the reward value for every pledge to give back to the supporters as much as possible. “This isn’t about making a profit”, said Tallarico who has never taken a paycheck from Video Games Live over the 13 years since it was created, “this is about continuing to prove to the world how culturally significant and artistic video games have become and to provide the highest possible quality to the fans around the world. We are very transparent in the numbers for the project and have listed a complete budget for everything. I wish more Kickstarter projects would do this.”

There are over 110 different Rewards offered through the LEVEL 4 project as top game composers and developers from around the world band together once again to help create something special for audiences around the world. A complete spreadsheet of Reward Tiers can be found at the following link: www.videogameslive.com/LEVEL4RewardChart.xls

Incorporated in 2002, Video Games Live is the first and most successful video game touring concert in the world having performed almost 300 shows in 35 countries on 5 continents. Over 11,000 people were present for the debut performance at the Hollywood Bowl with the L.A. Philharmonic and since then over 1 million people have experienced the show live.

Video Games Live has released 3 albums worldwide (all of which debuted in the Billboard Top 10) as well as an award winning full length feature DVD/Blu-Ray. In 2010 the show aired nationally on PBS and quickly became one of the top rated PBS Specials of all time. With over 500+ ticket buyer reviews on Ticketmaster.com, Video Games Live boasts a 4.6 (out of 5) rating.

Inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records for the biggest, most successful and longest running game concert in the world, Video Games Live continues to break new ground and thrill audiences worldwide with brand new content each year.

Video Games Live currently has ON SALE over 30 shows taking place over the next 5 months around the world and is about to embark on a 3 week 10 country tour of Europe! You can view the Video Games Live Tour Dates at the following link: http://videogameslive.com/index.php?s=dates

Aubrey Hodges - The master of dark ambient game OST´s

aubrey hodges doom ps1 ost
One of Aubrey Hodges very best soundtracks imo.

I found a real video game music gold mine this morning. Because i found my way to Aubrey Hodges bandcamp page. And i honestly didn't know that Aubrey had done so many great soundtracks over the years. I even feel somewhat embarrassed over the fact that i didn´t know that Aubrey made the Doom 64 and Doom PS1 OST.

Which just happens to be THE most evil and dark video game soundtracks ever made. But Aubrey have worked on over 220 games in his career (as a sound designer/video game composer). So he have made a ton of awesome soundtracks over the years.

I actually listened to the Bio Freaks (PS1) soundtrack for the very first time in my life today. And i really liked that one. I should also point out that Aubrey did a really great job on the Quake 1 and Quake 2 soundtrack for the N64.

So if you like ultra dark and evil ambient soundtracks. Then you MUST listen and buy Aubrey Hodges music asap!

DooM Concert - Knee Deep In Metal

doom concert knee deep in metal
THE best Metal concert EVER!

I have seen, heard and been at many Metal concerts in my life. But none of them has been even half as awesome as ElguitarTom´s digital Doom concert ("Knee Deep In Metal"). Honestly, i don´t think anything could top this.

Well, okay. If Ozzy and Phil Anselmo joined the scen. Then it would be the best Metal concert ever. But even without them, Knee Deep In Metal made my Friday fu**ing awesome. So a big thanks to ElguitarTom for his awesome job with the video!

Now, please enjoy the video. And headbang till your head fall off \m/

8 tracks - A top quality webradio page

8tracks
8 Tracks got tons of video game songs and albums.

Could you imagine a world without music? Well, i can´t. Because for me music are just as important as breathing. I just can´t live without it. In fact, i listen to music for hours 7 days a week. When i work, when i train and even when i read (i had a blast reading S.D. Perry´s Resident Evil books while listning to music from RE Remake for ex).

So i'm very grateful that web pages like 8 tracks exists (one of the very best webradio pages on the net). Because 8 tracks got so many video game songs and albums that i can listen to. So if you´re searching for a epic webradio page.

Then lend 8 tracks your ears ;)

Retro Demo Scene - The Black Lotus

retro demo scene the black lotus
Believe it or not. But all the graphics in the "Black Lotus" video. Are 100% done on a Amiga.

I think i just found THE most beautiful and advanced Amiga demo ever made. It´s a pure masterpiece really. I´m talking about Retro Demo Scene´s "Starstruck" video (made by "The Black Lotus"). And the music are pretty darn awesome as well.

Let´s just say that the video made my day. And if you liked it as well. Then check out the rest of Retro Demo Scene´s videos. Because he (she?) got tons of awesome videos to be found on his//her Youtube page.

80's Baby - Cain The Producer

80s baby cain the producer
A really good electronic hip hop album.

Ah, the 80´s. So we meet again. Say what you want about the 80´s. But that decade had it all. Great music (MJ, Run DMC, Queen and so on), epic movies and tv-series (Transformers, TMNT, Miami Vice, Macgyver) , super cool cloths and great video games.(NES and SMS).

And i had the great pleasure to experience it all. So yeah, every now and than i miss the 80s. But thanks to artists such as "Cain The Producer". I get to relive the 80s again. Just take Cain´s album "80's Baby" for example.

It´s full of references to the 80s. And that album are sooo damn good as well. But don´t take my word for it. Listen to it yourselves ;)
