Hopper: Pixel Journey - The story about a sole survivor pixel

hopper pixel journey
It´s a hard life being a lonley pixel in a world that´s much to dark.

Ah, computer viruses. Don´t we just all hate those. But in the world of Gaming, viruses are at least manageable (especially if you get the pleasure to play as one yourself). I don´t know if you guys remember a really old PC game named "Virus: The Game"? But that game was all about computer viruses (you were supposed to trackdown and destroy all the viruses in your PC)

And that just happens to be the case with Coverain´s game "Hopper: Pixel Journey" as well. But things are somewhat different in Hopper. Because you play as a sole survivor pixel from a virus attack on your computer. So you are both outnumbered and outgunned.

So what´s the main goal of The Hopper then? Well, you (the player) are supposed to guide Hopper from the inside of your computer to the monitor. And while doing so, you must destroy every little virus that you encounter along the way.

Does that sound like your kind of game? Then vote thumbs up for Hopper on Steam Greenlight!

About Hopper:
In the game you will play as Hopper - the sole survivor pixel from a virus attack on your computer. Hero must go a long way through the computer’s components up to the monitor.

During the journey, the hero will be traveling through all parts of the computer from the power supply through a processor, graphics card up to the monitor. During this time you will have to beat the Virus that destroys the world of our hero.

The game will take us from a very dark and gloomy recesses to the luminous places "full of electronic life."

Key Features:
- Manipulation of gravity - dozens of different items, and each can change the gravity, so that you can beat the next levels.
- Collect energy - energy gives you the ability to fly, shooting and when it gets full reduces the time
- Fight with the enemies - use energy and surrounding environment to escape or defeat enemies
- Flying - by flying there is a possibility to speed up or bypass certain obstacles. However, it consumes energy.
- Puzzles - Sometimes way is closed or inaccessible. Solve simple arcade puzzle to open a passage.
- 11 unique chapters, each containing a dozen levels
-Time challenge - Try to achieve the best results and beat the records

Bacon Man - Let the great food war begin!

bacon man
Yet "another" Super Meat Boy clone? Not quite.

Ah, bacon. Don´t we all just love bacon? Well, at least i do. But i honestly never belived that i would ever see a video game with bacon man as the main character. But then again, the samething could be said about Super Meat Boy.

Anyhow, Bacon Man (which runs on the Unreal Engine) are a 2D/3D action/platform/adventure game by Skymap Games. A rather uniq game, so i must say. Just the story alone caught my attention. Basically, Bacon Man has been fooled (set up) by the Food Kings in his kingdom.

So the main goal of Bacon Man would be to restore his rightfull place on the meat throne. Which of course are easier said than done. And i´m not just talking about the challenges in the actual game itself. I´m also refering to the $20,000 Kickstarter goal.

Sure, Skymap Games has raised $12,000 so far. But there´s only 8 days left on the Kickstarter watch. So the time is running out really fast. And that of course raises the question whether or not Bacon Man will reach it´s Kickstarter goal on time?

Well, i sure hope so! Because i love bacon, and i would love to get the chance to play as a bacon man who kicks ass all day long.

About Bacon Man:
There’s a conspiracy brewing in the world of Nomround. Old King Roast Beef has been brutally murdered, and his obviously innocent grandson Bacon Man has been framed by the Food Kings. Escape the clutches of evil, gather allies, and help Bacon Man restore his rightful place on the Meat Throne. Bacon Man: An Adventure is an action adventure platformer. It is being developed by Skymap Games for PC and Mac.

Haxatron 2000 - It´s time to hax!

haxatron2000
How good are your haxing skills?

There has been quite a few hacking related  video games (and software programs) over the years. But i have to say that Haxatron 2000 are one of the most interesting (and entertaining) hacker app/program that i´ve tried in a while.

So if you wanna try your haxing skills and reflexes. Then just give Haxatron 2000 a go! (you can get it for iOS and PC, MAC and Linux via browser)

About Haxatron 2000:
"Haxatron 2000 is the industry’s leading standard for haxing cloud optimized 2.0 driven responsive design systems (websites). Haxatron 2000 Version 2.0 now comes in 64 bit, and supports touchscreen compatibility. Among other features, Haxatron 2000 is the go to training tool to hone haxing reflexes for both beginner and senior haxers."

How does Haxatron 2000 work?
"Haxatron 2000 uses EPE technologies. The human brain naturally emits EPE’s, or Electromagnetic Psychical Emissions. These emissions are read-only, and accessible with most Wi-Fi devices. Haxatron 2000 links with your core neural network’s emissions and detects the intended target of your hax while you interact with the interface, navigating from point A to point B. Concentration is essential. The haxor must stay focussed at all times. If, for some reason, a hax failed (even after you successfully navigated from A to B) it is more often than not a result of inconsistent EPE signals (poor concentration). Haxing is a meditation best perfected over time. Yes. Haxatron 2000 is psychic, state of the art, and ready to follow your every command."

QBEH-1 - Now with full support for Oculus Rift

qbeh 1 oculus rift
QBEH-1 seems to work really well together with Oculus Rift.

Some could argue that there hasn't been that many changes to the puzzle genre over the last 10 years or so. Well, the same thing could be said about the FPS genre as well. Sure, better graphics, sound effects and bigger worlds to play in (and so on). But the concept has remained the same.

I´m talking about big revolutionary steps. Like in the case with Unreal 1 for example. But it seems like Liquid Flower (the developers of QBEH-1) might hit two birds with one stone. Because their first-person puzzle game "QBEH-1" now offers full support for Oculus Rift.

So that might give a uniq and "revolutionary" touch and feel to QBEH-1 (and the FPS/puzzle genre at large). And guess what? There just happens to be a 45% doscount on the game via Steam (QBEH-1 are all yours to enjoy for 4,94 Euro) due the Oculus Rift announcement.

Hurry up though. Becouse that offer ends on the 11th of August.

Press release:

each filled with new mysteries and secrets to uncover. In each world, players find special cubes that must be collected and used to navigate to the next portal.

The VR gaming community can finally see for themselves why virtual reality focused journalists are giving QBEH-1: The Atlas Cube high praise.

“Zen-like one moment, vertigo-inducing the next, this is a polished and immersive FPS platformer for the Oculus Rift that's greatly improved by its use of virtual reality.”

- The Rift Arcade | 8/10

“…this is quite freaking amazing. It really adds a whole level of immersion here.” “It is definitely one of those games I will be going back to play.”

- Oculus Rifter

“Qbeh-1 take’s everything that made Portal’s puzzles great and mix’s it with elements of MineCraft and even Tetris and blends them all together to create something unique yet familiar. Its Rift implementation is the best we have seen yet from a previously released 2D game so much so that it’s hard to imagine that it was not originally designed with VR in mind. Qbeh-1 is well worth your time and money as it’s a modern classic and a must play experience.”

- Virtual Reality Reviewer | 4/5

Aegis Defenders - A Miyazaki-inspired 2D action platformer

aegis defenders
It's quite obvious that Aegis Defenders are highly inspired by Miyazaki´s "Nausiccä".

***UPDATE***
It seems like the Shovel Knight (Yachtclub Games) will join the fight in Aegis Defenders. Because i just saw this comment on GUTS Department´s tumblr page:

"Wait, who’s that guy? OMG It’s Shovel Knight! Our favorite knight joins the fight, courtesy of our amazing friends at yachtclubgames! They are awesome people and have given us tons of feedback and tips for our kickstarter for Aegis Defenders."

It´s been a while since i saw this much ranting and angry comments about a Kickstarter game. I´m talking about GUTS Department´s upcoming 2D action/platformer "Aegis Defenders". Don´t get me wrong. The game looks great. But once i saw the Kickstarter video for Aegis Defenders, i started to understand why a lot of people dropped angry comments on Youtube (and via social media).

Because let´s be honest. Aegis Defenders looks very simulor to Miyazaki´s "Nausicaa". Some would even say that the art style (and characters) are directly stolen form Nausicaa. I mean, it´s one thing to be inspired, or to "borrow" ideas, concepts and such from other art forms.

But if there´s any truth at all to the whole thing with "ripping Nausicaa off". Then GUTS Department might run into some legal troubles (copyright claims) in the near future. So for the sake of Aegis Defenders. I really hope that GUTS Department have either signed a contract, or talked to mr Miyazaki about Aegis Defenders.

Because it would be a damn shame if the game get´s shut down on Kickstarter. Especially due the fact that Aegis Defenders have collected $51,000 out of $65,000 (there´s 30 days left to go!). So there´s no doubt (whatsoever) that Aegis Defenders are a huge hit on Kickstarter.

So i wouldn't be that much surprised to hear that Aegis Defenders get´s thumbs up on Steam Greenlight as well. That´s also why i hope that GUTS Department will sort everything out asap. Before the Nausicaa rantings starts to hurt the Aegis Defenders project for real.

About Aegis Defenders:
"HUMANITY HAS BEEN BROUGHT BACK INTO THE DARK AGES BUT REMNANTS OF A ONCE HIGHLY ADVANCED CIVILIZATION STILL EXIST. In this world where control over lost technologies equals power, you play as Bart and his granddaughter Clu as they explore ancient ruins in search of the one thing that can save their village from an encroaching empire - an ancient weapon known as Aegis. Aegis is an Action/RPG platformer for PC/Mac that combines the best of 16bit era adventure titles like Metroid with defense arena inspired combat."
