Hohokum - Your chance to explore and feel art and music

Hohokum has been out since August for PS4, PS3 and PSV.

It was obviously a really good idea that Sony Santa Monica and Honeyslug studios worked together on a collaboration. Because that resulted in a very fine, creative and uniq game called "Hohokum". Which would be best described as a art and music exploration game (think "Flower" or "Journey", that kind of experience).

Honestly though, you can call Hohokum whatever you want. Because it´s still the kind of game that you have to experience by yourself, to truly understand it. And you can trust me on this, you do NOT want to miss out on Hohokum (the PS3 version has a average score of 74.40% via gamerankings btw).

Because it´s the kind of game that makes you smile inside and out.

About Hohokum:
HOHOKUM Hohokum is a distinct creative collaboration between artist Richard Hogg and Honeyslug, a London-based game studio. It is a whimsical colorful game with an emphasis on playful exploration and creativity. With the vision to create an experience free of some of the typical pressures of videogames Honeyslug delivers inspiring and unique gameplay in Hohokum.

Players take on the role of a curious flying Technicolor kite-like being. Along their travels through the vibrant world, players will be able to uncover secrets by interacting with elements around them in different ways such as carrying characters to new areas on their back or flying over objects to illuminate them.

The world of Hohokum is full of surprise; even running into certain objects can be its own reward as the interaction produces a tune or sounds that add to the level’s music track. From the way a player navigates the world to the various ways characters communicate to the abstract vivid artwork, Hohokum is an expressive and mesmerizing universe.

While there are goals, secrets and Trophies discovered along the way, at its heart, Hohokum is a playground — a place to wander about and get lost in. Hohokum will be available in the Summer of 2014 for the PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment systems and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system.

Formula Wincars - Javi Diez from Mägo de Oz joins in!

Who would have thought that a Metal rocker would make music for DragonJam Studios upcoming F2P online racing game "Formula Wincars"? But yes, it´s true.

Javi Diez from Mägo de Oz (a Spanish Metal band) will make music for Formula Wincars. Personally, i´m all for that. But then again, i have been a fan of Metal since the late 80s.

Anyhow, Formula Wincars is set for a release by the end of this year to PC, MAC and Linux. So keep your eyes open for it!

DragonJam Studios confirms that the upcoming release of its multiplayer racing title will feature original music by rocker Javi Diez from famous rock act Mägo de Oz.Javi Diez combines his career as a professional and successful musician with his other passion, video games. He’s been playing every single game he’s been able to get his hands into since he was a child.

Some of his favorite titles are The Secret of Monkey Island, American McGee’s Alive or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.“I always wanted to write music for video games, but it wasn’t until a year ago that I decided to go for it”, says spanish folk-metal musician, who mentions among his influences Adam Skorupa from The Witcher saga, 80’s video game classic soundtracks, and above them all Shadow of the Colossus’ soundtrack “utter madness from the beginning to the end”

Javi Diez won’t be on his own as he will be supported by some of his bandmates from Mägo de Oz when time comes to record the music composed for Formula Wincars.

Thus, the game faces its final development stage announcing its Closed-Beta launch in December calling players to be active participants by registering on their site.

Spanish videogame Formula Wincars has been under development from more than a year and during that time it’s been able to get attention from the press and players alike thru its fresh take on the racing game genre, introducing lots of innovative features based on online multiplayer gaming, where not only driving skills will be important, but also strategy and tactics will be critical.

They were first acknowledged by the media when they launched their crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, and the title will very likely be one this year’s pleasant surprises.

GAME KEY FEATURES
Massive up to 4000 players Tournaments. Players will compete simultaneously to reach the final where the winner will get a physical prize. These tournaments will be integrated into the game, and there will also be a Tournament generator, allowing players to hold their own competitions.

Co-op Teams Mode: 4 vs 4 races where sharing special skills, upgrading them and building a common strategy will take you to the finish line safe and sound. This game mode will implement some MOBA games mechanics into the racing genre.

Besides, this indie title counts with colorful HD graphics, a host of wild circuits full of secrets and shortcuts, great importance of tactics and a wide range of customizable cars and drivers, each of them containing its own mysterious past story to be discovered.

One last surprise, Formula Wincars is intended to be an ever-expanding game, continuously providing new challenges to its community.

DragonJam Studios has listened to all those players demanding a game like this, receiving enthusiastic feedback and international support from the very beginning to this day. Easy to start, hard to master!

Beginners will feel comfortable from the very first play, and more expert players will also find the fast response speed and accuracy required for high-level competition. Ascent - The final 50 hours on Kickstarter!

Will Ascent reach the Kickstarter goalline on time?

The Australian indie studio Fluffy Kitten sure has a lot of balls. No doubt about that. I mean, not only are they up against both "Elite: Dangerous" and "Star Citizen". But they actually try to make a really uniq and awesome space MMO game.

And that game would be "Ascent". A game which i have written quite a lot since it launched it´s campaign on Kickstarter. Speaking of which, Ascent is 9,000 AUD short at the moment. And there´s just 51 hours left on the Kickstarter watch.

So if you really want Ascent to happen. Then you better hurry up and show the game some love and support on Kickstarter!

About Ascent: The Space Game:
Ascent sports a mind-boggling 270 billion star systems—and it allows players to build and customize their own ships, colonize faraway worlds, compete with other players for currency and resources, mine asteroids, trade, and much more. 

The game’s two gameplay modes are roughly divided into “Industrialist” and “Combat” campaigns running side by side – it’s possible to switch between the two at any time. ”Industrialist” is more trade-oriented: Players are tasked with rebuilding business empires and attempting to restore order to the human race.

Graal Seeker - The hunt for 8,000 Euro!

Graal Seeker needs tons of help to happen, and fast!

Last night we were contacted by Lugludum. Which would be the devlopers behind the 2D RPG/tacticalroguelike game "Graal Seeker". Because apparently, they need all the help that they can get. And i started to understand why when i saw their indiegogo campaign.

Because the goal would be to collect 10,000 Euro. But at this moment, Graal Seeker needs another 8,000 Euro. And there´s just 4 days left on the campaign now. So time is running out really fast! So i would recommend that you guys checkout the indiegogo and Steam page for Graal Seeker.

And then make up your mind if it´s your kind of game or not, and whether or not you should support iton indiegogo.

Animal Gods is now 75% funded on Kickstarter!

Will Animal Gods be able to reach it´s Kickstarter goal on time? 

Last night i recorded our very first video for Still Games upcoming 2D action/RPG game "Animal Gods" (alpha build #2). And it went really well, i just wish that the demo would have lasted a "little" bit longer than it did. But i still liked what i saw and feelt.

So i´m very happy to inform you all that Animal Gods is now 75% funded on Kickstarter! I found out about that this morning actually =) So i just hope that Still Games will be able to collect the last $6,000 that´s missing. Because there´s just 10 days left on the campaign now.

So that means that Animal Gods needs to raise about $600 per day to make it on time. But i honestly believe (and hope) that Still Animal Gods will be funded on time. So we wish Still Games the best of luck with that.

October 28, 2014 - Sheperdstown, West Virginia, USA - Indie developer Still Games, has released a playable tech demo of their action- adventure RPG Animal Gods. Builds are available for both Mac and PC.

Co-inciding with the tech demo release, the Kickstarter pledges have just passed the 75% mark with 11 days remaining to achieve its funding target of $26,000.

The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy

Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy are 18 grand short at the moment.

Sometimes it's simple just not enough to have a great product on Kickstarter. Because that alone won´t make your campaign into a big Kickstarter success story. And trust me, i have seen this happen so many times since Kickstarter started back in 2009.

And sadly enough, that seems to be the case with Okam Studio´s very ambtious point and click adventure game "The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy". Because even though Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy looks great and have a awesome game concept (it´s based on Dark Horse´s comic series with the same name).

Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy are still missing $18,000 at the moment (Okam Studio needs $30,000 to reach their Kickstarter goal). And there´s just 9 days left now, so time is running out fast! I should also point out that a lot of talented (and famous) video game personalities has praised The Interactive Adventures of Dog Mendonça and Pizza Boy.

people such as Tim Schafer (Monkey Island, Psychonauts, Grim Fandango, Broken Age), Charles Cecil (Broken Sword), and Chris Schoyer (The Wolf Among Us). So, you know what? I´m going to give the demo a try, then back the game if i like it =)
