Mirrors Edge 2 for E3? Looks Like it
Mirrors Edge are a rather short, but very good game.
Hopefully E3 will provide a better platform to launch Mirrors Edge for EA and DICE. The first game in the series launched to mostly positive reviews in 2008. Critics hailed the game as graphically stunning, and a pure work of art for the time.
Gamers didn’t exactly feel the same, some felt the game lacked the essence that we should have felt from a first person perspective, especially with weapons involved. Overall the game was only about 3-4 hours long, depending on your take of the campaign. Sales records proved that Mirrors Edge had what it took to run with the big dogs, as of June 2013 worldwide the console, and mobile games have sold over 2.5 million units.
It’s been almost a year, since publisher EA announced the sequel to Mirror’s Edge catching gamers by surprise that it is still being considered for a release date. If DICE's sequel can build upon the fantastic foundation created by the first, then we're certainly in for a great time.
Hopefully we will see more expansion upon the free running, weapon development, and maybe advanced acrobatics that would help build upon the story. Even side missions would reap fantastic results, keeping the game in the same realm as the previous one, but keeping us enthralled to keep playing.
Yep, Mirrors Edge 2 are in the making. But will DICE/EA show something from the game at E3?
The image above was published on the Mirrors Edge Facebook Page, with the solemn tag of ‘#E32014’, the screenshot doesn’t offer any real information, nor does it suggest anything that we can speculate upon. With all of this considered, we’re still looking forward to the sequel, and so should you.
