Robotech Academy - The new era of Robotech

I sure hope that Robotech Academy will be fully funded via Kickstarter. Because anything else would be a great loss.
The very first anime that i ever watched was "Starzinger" (the first episode was aired in Japan back in 1978). And that was in the early 90s. Don´t get me wrong, i really loved Starzinger as a child (and i still do!). But there was another anime that stole all my attention.
And that was Robotech (released back in 1985). Because i already loved robots (thanks to Transformers), but i wanted something more mature (i was a teen at the time). And the answer was of course Robotech. It had everything i wanted and more.
Mecha robots, intense action fights in space, awesome animations (and girls). And later on i started to watch Macross as well. But it´s been a very long time since i watched either of them. But earlier today i heard about Gold Productions kickstarter project "Robotech Academy".
Which would be a brand new Robotech animated series (based on Carl Macek's last project at Harmony Gold). That´s great news indeed. But there´s a "little" catch to all this. To be exact, a $500,000. Robotech Academy has however already collected over $163,000 so far.
And there´s still 19 days left on the Kickstarter watch. So it´s not impossible for the Gold Productions team to reach their Kickstarter goal. I just hope that i can raise some awareness about Robotech Academy before it´s to late...
About Robotech Academy:
"In 1985, the animated series known as Robotech hit the airwaves in the United States and became an overnight sensation. Combining fast-paced giant robot action with some genuinely mature drama, it was a breath of fresh air for many children who had gotten tired of the usual cartoons on TV at the time. For many fans, it was their first exposure to Japanese anime, and is often credited with starting the anime industry in the US. It spawned over twenty novels, hundreds of comics, video games and dozens of home video releases all over the world. Carl Macek, the producer of Robotech, was recently working with Harmony Gold on Robotech: Academy. This new series set in the Robotech universe follows several new cadets in their adventures around the universe. We are reaching out to our fans to make this a reality!
The Robotech Academy Kickstarter will allow us to gauge how much of a new Robotech series we could actually produce based on Carl's original premise. We are setting our initial goal at $500,000 which will allow us to create an entire 24 minute pilot episode. This will help us cover character design, mecha design, 3D modeling, 3D animation, 2D animation, screenwriting, sound engineering, music composition, casting, voice acting and recording. This will also afford us a foundation on which to build future episode"
