The Hive - A really nice mix of Dungeon Keeper and Starcraftcomment_here

the hive
The concept art for The Hive are just simply brilliant.

It´s seems like the Finnish studio Skydome Entertainment got something rather nice in the making. Because their game "The hive" (which would be a adventure/puzzle/strategy game for PC, MAC and Linux) made me think of a really nice blend of Starcraft (the zerg) and Dungeon Keeper. I also have to say that i really like the design and graphics in The Hive.

And i was just informed that The Hive got thumbs up on Steam Greenlight. So that means that the game will be for sale on Steam in the near future. So "hopefully" we will get a review code for The Hive. Because i really want to give the game a try.

Oh, well. You guys can enjoy the trailer for The Hive in the meanwhile ;)

About The Hive:
Hive is an easily approachable, riveting strategy game, where the objective of the player is to build an underground network using their insect colonies from the base, called "nests". Captivating backstory and a beautiful visual design takes the player to a fantasy world, which offers new surprises and challenges as the game progresses.

To react to these challenges the player must upgrade and adjust their nest. Leaning to heavy storytelling and a broad world, Hive offers the player a diverse exploration ground. Having many different endings and possibilities, the player can create their own unique route, strategy, and story.

Growing and adjusting are one of the most important parts of the game. There lies many challenges in the underground networks, and the player must defeat enemies and explore the land to upgrade their nest to answer to them.

By defeating right kind of enemies you can find new objects which you can add to your nest and use them in the battle. It is also possible for the player to learn new technology by inspecting the old abandoned ruins and temples.

The game has gotten its inspiration from the nature documentaries of insects, borrowed and blended elements from science fiction, strategy games and fascinating world of archaeology. The end product is one of a kind game concept, which mesmerizes the player for a long time.
