Codmaster lägger ner Hei$st
R.I.P in digital heaven.
Är du en av dom som gått runt och väntat på att Hei$st ska komma ut? då lär du nog inte fortsätta att läsa. Codemaster bekräftade att spelet är nedlagt till spelsiten IGN.
"After a much extended development period, Heist has been terminated as a project and removed from our release schedule." - IGN
Spelet verkade rätt lovande då det utspelade sig under 60talet och man skulle både kunna råna, sno och härja fritt igenom San Francisco. Nåja, shit happends antar jag.

I mean, who the hell gives a crap about science? It's not like it's the single most successful method for developing an understanding of the world we live in or the mechanisms that govern human behaviour. Reply
Define the parameters. How long is the persistence of the "aggression" after consumption? How do they measure it? What do they define as aggressive behavior? How many individuals were studied and what cultures and sub-cultures were they apart of? Is there any link between the increase in "aggression" noticed and any violent acts that happened during the course of these studies? How are they comparing it to emotional arousal? Do they show the participants pictures of puppies with their skulls crushed in and measure that and than have them play a round of MW2?
Spare me. It's crap and you know it. You want to buy into this nonsense about shifting culpability from the individual to the society around them fine but don't come crying to me when you get mugged and the judge lets the perp off because he watched the Boondock Saints the day before robbing you. Although I feel for the guy who lost his brother in a point blank shooting, there was no mention that video game violence was attributed to it. And it has no meaning as a statement because like all the other activists, it's merely a gut feeling.
The arguments they portray are circumstantial at best, and are nothing but a personal opinion. I'm half way through this and already I can see the Virginia Tech massacre not coming up as one of there disreputable ploys to gain sympathy for their cause. Reply
when determined, people are capable of anything Reply
I wouldn't get nearly as annoyed about it if she had said "Doom inspired them,"
But to say that they TRAINED using Doom... c'mon woman. Joysticks and mouse movements don't equate to firing a real gun. Reply
"He did become an expert shooter based on that style of game [FPS]"
It made me like leiberman a lot more now though. Reply

Come on guys! This is a documentary you're making, not a comedy! Where's the professionalism? D: Reply
I hope they find time to mention that as games have gotten more realistic and more violent over the past 20 years, youth violence has fallen or held steady. Graph: Juvenile Homicide Arrests, US. Reply
We only go in for good ole fashioned conjecture around these parts. Reply
@Psudonym: I don't think anyone can argue that. There is a resemblance... Reply
@VincentGrey: CANNOT UNSEE.
I fear one day he'll force-lightning Obama become the first Emperor. Reply
I will watch it.
Only because i value both sides of a argument.
Personally i have not and more than likely will never see someone play Gears of War, GTAIV,COD, or God of War and immediately go outside and violently beat a woman for her car or SET A KID ON FIRE. Reply
Now Modern Warfare 2 as well with....
SPOILER ALERT**************************
Ghost and Roach getting set on fire 3/4 the way through. Reply
Why people can't call a spade a spade (ie a sick fucked-up piece of human garbage) today without desperately trying to blame their behavior on something completely unrelated is beyond me. Reply
"It's not their fault <"
When i was a kid and i did something really dumb i got my ass whipped and grounded for 1-2 weeks.
Society wants excuses because then they never have to face a problem I.E if i ignore it for long enough maybe it will go away.
I think it's time we come out from the covers and face the monsters. Reply
That being said, there's a huge difference between those people and the monsters. That is, one should understand that the person sent to prison for stealing bread from Food Lion to feed their starving family and the person who sets someone on fire are completely different species.
There is truly something wrong with that kind of person and they should be locked away never to see another free day for our protection, simple as that.
To blame videogames for the reason of their crimes is offensive. Those people are fucked up. Social preventions may have helped stop some of them from becoming what they are, but there will always be horrible people that really have no right existing with the rest of us. Reply
My original statement was a bit broad i admit.
I meant like you i believe that their are things that you screw up on and you get a second chance (car accidents and theft being fine examples)
But setting someone on fire, multiple killings, pedophiles, all have a history of being non responsive to any treatment so i do believe they should be put away like a rabid animal would be. Reply
I obviously disagree with the message, but that music and that compilation of game videos was soooo epic!!!!
I'll be watching this right now :) Reply

I think my feelings about Joe Lieberman can be summed-up well in that photo. Reply
Back in high school America the Book: A Citizen's Guide to Democracy In Action taught me more about our country than any "real" textbook.
Sad thing is I thought they were simply joking at the time. Then I learned about satire...

Why is no one making the same comparison to watching soccer games where people riot; or any sporting event where there is violence, for that matter?
The argument itself is taken to ludicrous lengths. Reply
We could actually solve problems if we acknowledged them. Media does have some degree of influence; like I said, we're a media-centric culture. But take away the media, and we yet still have violence. It was there before the television or the radio. Reply
They treat it as if someone being murdered in gang violence or domestic disputes somehow means that violent videogames are to blame.
There are so many counterintuitive leaps in logic and superfluous personal stories that it's sick.
They even invoke the name of Columbine, just because Doom was found on a computer; despite the fact that they were obviously outcasts and psychotic egotists. These were NOT normal children.
To claim that Doom teaches someone how to shoot a gun is like saying that playing Phoenix Wright teaches someone to be an attorney. Reply

When Jack Thompson found out your male character had the potential to kiss a boy after much courting in Bully (the whole makeout part was a very tiny, tiny part of the game, and 99% of the time involved female characters), he took to the air waves proclaiming that Bully was full of "Gay Sexual Content."
