Surf Safe wih F-Secure - Protect your life on the internet

F-Secure´s Safe software helps you to stay safe while you´re browsing the web.

Since the launch of the ARPANET (1969, an early version of the Internet that we know of today) the Internet has change "quite" a lot. The big change would come in the early 90s. However, as the public started to get access to the Internet. Me, I still remember the first time that I played Doom over the Internet back in 1994 (on a really slow dial-up modem. It was a "top of the line" kind of modem at that time though) it felt somewhat unreal to be able to play against other real players from different parts of the world.

However, not before 1996 did I get my own modem (a 33.6K modem), and at that time Internet was really small (only Yahoo and Altavista existed as search engines as well). Not only that, there was very few "good" webpages that you could visit (as Internet was still very young and in a development stage). Even so, there´s still some good aspects which I can mention about the mid 90s version of the Internet.

1. Much less spyware, adware, viruses and trojans
2. Most webpages were rather harmless (less porn, hate, scam sites and so on)

None of that can be said about today's version of the Internet. As it´s recommended that you use a hardware (and software) firewall, a maleware and anti-virus program in-order to stay somewhat safe on the web. However, there is actually another solution to get a really safe PC, and that is to use a "all-in-one" security software solution.

If you´re not 100% sure if F-Secure´s Safe is the solution for you. Then you could always download and try the free 30-day trial first.

Like F-Secure´s "Safe" software, for example. Which protects your computer from harm at all times (for PC, MAC, tablets and smart phones). So if you like the sound of that, then you should download and try the 30-day free trial of F-Secure Safe asap! Oh, another thing. I have one more fun story about the old-school version of the web. Back in 1997 I tried to download the demo for Running with Scissors action/slaughter simulator "Postal" on a 56K modem.

It took me almost a whole day to download that demo, and I ended up with a rather expensive Internet bill as well (I'm  sure glad that I/we won´t have to deal with stuff like that anymore), but you know what? It was so worth it ;)

30-DAY FREE TRIAL
Try the world's best protection for all your devices for free for 30 days. Submit the form to download the  full version of F-Secure SAFE. Multi-device Internet security for your PC, Mac, smartphone and tablet. Batman: Arkham Knight - The return of the dark knight

Are you ready to take on the dangers and criminals of Arkham city?

Even though it´s the final day of E3 2015 today, we will still think and talk about E3 2015 for weeks and months to come. Just take Rocksteady Studios upcoming action/adventure game Batman: Arkham Knight (the game is set for a release on the 23rd of June for Windows, MAC, Linux PS4 and Xbox One) for example. Arkham Knight was already a much wanted game by the Batman fans, but once the E3 gameplay demo started to roll. People just lost it, since the game is everything, we hoped for (and more).

Just take the fact that Arkham Knight looks better than any previous Batman game in the Arkham series (it´s thanks to the power of Unreal Engine 3, which gives Arkham Knight ); you may also explore the world of Arkham as you please, a world that's full of super villains, thugs and criminals for you to take care of.

Personally, i was most impressed by the fighting aspects of Arkham Knight. As it made me think about a Batman version of Streets of Rage (but with a whole set of awesome Batman gadgets at your disposal).

Harley Quinn is just as sexy as she´s deadly.

I also have to admit that I shed a manly tear when I saw some in-game Batmobile action (yes, it´s now a driveable vehicle in Arkham Knight) in the E3 gameplay demo. Let´s just say that I can´t wait to drive like a crazy bastard through the streets of Arkham with the Batmobile (when Batman goes Carmageddon?). So are you guys just as excited for Batman: Arkham Knight as I am? And did you enjoy the E3 presentation for the game?

Live interview with John Karlsson - The Swedish army

John Karlsson Is ready to rock like a boss.

The Swedish armed forces aren't exactly like any other job on the market, and the same thing can be said for It´s job interviews as well. To be honest, I haven´t seen (or experienced) a job interview quite like the ones that the Swedish army has started to live record just recently.

In fact, I think I´m far from alone to share these thoughts. As we actually get the chance to
ask real Swedish soldiers (from different fields within the Swedish army) questions live via cam and microphone.

Like In the case with John Karlsson, for example (my guess Is that his a special OPS soldier?), we get to follow John through his everyday training program while his answering questions by civilians who're curious about joining the army. Something which of course caused a lot of amusement and commitment, since the whole thing was aired live.

Only the best of the best gets to become soldiers in the Swedish army.

You literally got the chance to hear, see and experience what It´s like to be a soldier through the eyes of John Karlsson. Let´s just say that I´m very impressed, and so far I have to admit that the Swedish army has done really well with their job interview series. The videos actually make me proud to be Swedish, and proud of our army.

Sponsored video: Bojan and Sladjans Sweden: Göteborg

***English***
Even if you´re not a fan of the Swedish football club IFK Göteborg (or any of the other football clubs in Gothenburg for that matter), you still can´t deny the fact that Gothenburg is a really big football city. This is partly due to the fact that Gothenburg has a long history when it comes to football. For example, the very first football game (with official rules) took place back in 1892 in Gothenburg.

Not to mention that there is also a lot of football interested people in Gothenburg (hence that there are many youth clubs, associations and football fields in Gothenburg). So i was'exactly surprised when I found out that episode 2 of "Bojan & Sladjans Sverige” would be recorded in Gothenburg.

As there´s a lot of football history, legends (Glenn Hysen, Thomas Ravelli, Bengt "Fölet" Berndtsson with many more), club cultures and societies to be found in the city of Gothenburg. So if you like football (and Gothenburg of course!) then don´t miss out on Bojan Djordjic and Sladjan Osmanagic´s 15 minute long episode about Gothenburg!

Lazerhawk - King of the Streets - Bubblegum Crisis

bubblegum crisis

Bubblegum Crisis was released back in 1987. And there was 8 episodes released in total.

I have to admit that this is a "bit" embarrassing. Because even though im a huge cyberpunk fan. I have never really taken my time to watch the anime "Bubblegum Crisis" (fanzy name huh?). Because i have always (for some odd reason) avoided to watch that anime.

Why? You might ask. Well, back in the days one of my friends told me that Bubblegum Crisis was a "girl anime". Clearly he must have confused that anime with some other anime series. Cuz that´s obviously not the case.

Anyhow, thanks to the band "Lazerhawk" i found my way to Einhander´s Bubblegum Crisis video on Youtube. And i freaking loved it! Cuz it made me think about that motorcycle scene in Akira. I also found out via Wikipedia, that Bubblegum Crisis has been quite inspired by Blade Runner (and other cyberpunk movies).

So yeah, im buying Bubblegum Crisis asap!

Hohokum - Your chance to explore and feel art and music

hohokum
Hohokum has been out since August for PS4, PS3 and PSV.

It was obviously a really good idea that Sony Santa Monica and Honeyslug studios worked together on a collaboration. Because that resulted in a very fine, creative and uniq game called "Hohokum". Which would be best described as a art and music exploration game (think "Flower" or "Journey", that kind of experience).

Honestly though, you can call Hohokum whatever you want. Because it´s still the kind of game that you have to experience by yourself, to truly understand it. And you can trust me on this, you do NOT want to miss out on Hohokum (the PS3 version has a average score of 74.40% via gamerankings btw).

Because it´s the kind of game that makes you smile inside and out.

About Hohokum:
HOHOKUM Hohokum is a distinct creative collaboration between artist Richard Hogg and Honeyslug, a London-based game studio. It is a whimsical colorful game with an emphasis on playful exploration and creativity. With the vision to create an experience free of some of the typical pressures of videogames Honeyslug delivers inspiring and unique gameplay in Hohokum.

Players take on the role of a curious flying Technicolor kite-like being. Along their travels through the vibrant world, players will be able to uncover secrets by interacting with elements around them in different ways such as carrying characters to new areas on their back or flying over objects to illuminate them.

The world of Hohokum is full of surprise; even running into certain objects can be its own reward as the interaction produces a tune or sounds that add to the level’s music track. From the way a player navigates the world to the various ways characters communicate to the abstract vivid artwork, Hohokum is an expressive and mesmerizing universe.

While there are goals, secrets and Trophies discovered along the way, at its heart, Hohokum is a playground — a place to wander about and get lost in. Hohokum will be available in the Summer of 2014 for the PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment systems and PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system.

Pop! Ilumbo - A puzzle game with pop art vibes

pop ilumbo
There´s quite a few puzzles to just waits to be solved in Pop! Illumbo.

It´s been a while since i played a decent puzzle game on my Android phone. But today i had the pleasure to try Ilumbo´s F2P puzzle game "Pop! Ilumbo". And i sure don´t regret doing so. Especially not due the fact that Pop! Ilumbo uses Ilumbo’s WarpHole technology.

And that enables the possibility to borrow art from other games that´s installed on your Android device (and that´s a really cool feature imo). So if you´re into puzzle games and just happens to own a Android tablet or smartphone.

Then you might wanna give Pop! Ilumbo a go!

About Pop! Ilumbo:
Puzzle goodness that is enjoyable by all and leaves an eye-candy reward for every solution. Delicious and unforgettable. It’s as if we included that special ingredient we stole from your grandma. Fully WarpHole-powered. This technology brings your other games to life inside Pop! Ilumbo. Discover the art hidden in the data space of your device. Beware: upsetting your device’s hardware may affect Pop! Ilumbo.

GamerGate dot me - A neutral page about #GamerGate

gamergate
#GamerGate is trending all over the world at the moment (big time!).

If you are a reader of ours, then you know that we have written quite a few articles about #GamerGate over the past months. For ex:

The Women Of #GamerGate - The female side of the story:
http://thegamingground.com/2014/october/the-women-of-gamergate-the-female-side-of-the-story.html

The truth about #GamerGate and Brianna Wu:
http://thegamingground.com/2014/october/the-truth-about-gamergate-and-brianna-wu.html

Intel and Gamergate - The Gamergate to hell are still open!:
http://thegamingground.com/2014/october/intel-and-gamergate-the-gamergate-to-hell-are-still-open.html

Gamergate is over - Game over man, game over!:
http://thegamingground.com/2014/september/gamergate-is-over-game-over-man-game-over.html

And quite a lot has happened since we wrote our very first #GamerGate article. Like the fact that there´s a open media war going down against #GamerGate, (aka "The Brianna Wu crusade"). And people are getting doxxed to the left and right, death threats is a every day thing now (on all sides) and people have even lost their jobs for speaking up about #GamerGate.

And still, very few people know what #GamerGate is all about. I can´t blame them though. Because i was confused as well at the very start of the birth of #GamerGate. And that´s where GamerGate.me steps into the picture.

Because GamerGate dot me is a neutral page that´s 100% dedicated to #GamerGate. So you will find all the information that you need to know on that page (plus updated news articles on the subject). So "hopefully" this will enlight (and inform) people about #GamerGate.

That´s at least the whole idea behind GamerGate.me (and my post for that matter).

About GamerGate.me:
In no way are we an official GamerGate website. We are an aggregate website on GamerGate. We aim to be a high quality information source to people following GamerGate or people just learning about it.

What is #GamerGate?
GamerGate is a power struggle over the fate of an $80+ billion industry between two loosely defined groups of people. On one side is the leaderless ragtag consumer revolt of #GamerGate, comprised of those who identify themselves as gamers and those who are sympathetic to the concerns of gamers. On the other side is a tight-knit network of journalists, PR reps, and media socialites who have explicitly disclosed their hatred of the gamer identity and their complete lack of respect for gamers. #GamerGate supporters sometimes refer to this clique as ‘Social Justice Warriors’ or as ‘SocJus’ (a reference to IngSoc from Orwell’s 1984).

Second Life - The virtual life lives on

second life
The very first version of SL was released back in 2003 (2003-06-23 to be exact).

Believe it or not. But i once actually played Second Life almost daily for hours. And that was back in 2007-2008 sometime, under the name of "Milo Kung Fu". But as times changed, so did i. So i stopped to play SL due lack of time and motivation.

So it´s been like, 5 or 6 years since the last time i played SL. And quite a lot has changed since then (hopefully viruses don´t exist in SL anymore). Actually i checked out some new gameplay videos for SL this morning. So i know for a fact that a lot of things has happened since 2008.

But do i want to come back to SL? I honestly don't know. But i shall think about it at least. I would love to hear what you boys and girls think about SL though =) So, feel free to speak up your mind about it ;)

About Secondlife:

Sponsored Video: Gumball 3000 Supercar - Team Betsafe

Ferrari FF Vs Ferrari 458 Italia. Round 1, fight!

***English***
I would probably never have heard about Gumball 3000 (created by Maximillion Cooper back in 1999) if it hadn't been for the Jackass team (I'm a big fan of the show). Because, as you might know, back in 2001 MTV aired the Jackass Gumball 3000 TV-special (which, btw gave MTV their highest ratings for that year).

At first, I didn't know what to make out of it, but when i saw Gumball 3000 in action, i was pretty much hooked for life. I guess that I really liked the idea of fast racing cars, high speeds and 4, 800km (3,000 British miles) of racing tracks through Europe.

So when i heard that one of my all time favourite action movie star Dolph Lundgren would join Gumball 3000 (with his Ferrari FF), i just had to checkout Team Betsafe´s video. As Lundgren and his Ferrari FF  was up against Norwegian WRC driver Eyvind Brynildsen's Ferrari 458 Italia on the Koenigsegg Factory test track.

So, who won the race between Dolph Lundgren and Eyvind Brynildsen? Watch the video down below and find out ;) And always remember, Betsafe, drive safe (for those who ain´t racing pros) and stay safe!
