Blizzard closes down their Titan Mmo project
Things just ain´t going Blizzards way at the moment. Wow are bleeding players, and struggling really hard to compete with all the new Mmo games on the market. And now this. Yes, it´s true. Blizzard has officially cancelled their mysterious Mmo project called "Titan".
Why? Well, obviously things didn´t workout the way Blizzard wanted it to. And keep in mind that Titan has been under development for over 7 years now. But this is what Blizzard´s CEO Mike Morhaime had to say about Blizzard axing Titan:
“We had created World of Warcraft, and we felt really confident that we knew how to make MMOs,” Morhaime said. “So we set out to make the most ambitious thing that you could possibly imagine. And it didn’t come together. We didn’t find the fun. We didn’t find the passion. We talked about how we put it through a reevaluation period, and actually, what we reevaluated is whether that’s the game we really wanted to be making. The answer is no.” - Michael Morhaime, co-founder and CEO Blizzard
So basically Blizzard feelt no good vibes at all from the Titan project. Or simply put, it was an forever in the making project that got nowhere. And i don´t even dare to think about all the money Blizzard must have burned on Titan project over the past 7 years.
Oh well, easy come, easy go. In Blizzards case, It's back to the drawing board i guess. Don´t forget to check out the Polygon interview with Blizzard btw.
